Comedies seem to be getting more formulaic and less surprising, so I wanted Chasing Robert to be unique and controversial, while still being plausible – and above all funny. The comedic tone constantly changes throughout the film providing something for everyone.

With roots in stand-up and having written for Comedy Central, Showtime and HBO, I’ve always pushed the limits with regards to taste and political correctness, I love the films of kevin smith and sacha barron. When Robert Hines and I put the project together, we created material with no concern as to what might be offensive. Although the film has racist and homophobic elements, we trust the audience will understand that the plot ridicules prejudice.

I cast an eclectic mix of comedic actors, some of whom have appeared in movies of the filmmakers I most admire, including the Farrelly Brothers and Christopher Guest. The film was shot in HD in three cities – Los Angeles, Las Vegas and Chicago.

As an egomaniac, my ultimate goal is to hear people repeating the film’s lines as they leave the theatre. I believe Chasing Robert will become a movie you just can’t shake.
